Album

Life and Times of S. Carter is the fourth studio album by American rapper Jay-Z. It was released on December 28, 1999, by Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings. According to USA Today critic Steve Jones, the record marked a return to the street-oriented sound of Jay-Z's 1996 debut album, Reasonable Doubt. featured production from Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, K-Rob, DJ Clue, Rockwilder, DJ Premier, and Irv Gotti, among others. Jays 4th studio album, and the final in his Vol. The record was released December 28, 1999, and debuted atop the US Billboard 200, selling 462k copies in its first week on its way to a total of 3 million in the US alone, certifying it triple platinum. The album was preceded by the single Jigga My Nigga, which was released in May 1999. That track was added as a bonus, along with Girls Best Friend, and Anything, which isnt on the track listing and is a hidden song after the Hova Song Outro outro. A set of hard-hitting tracks with some of the best rhymes of Jay-Z's career, the album is much more invigorating than its predecessor, and almost as consistently entertaining as his best album, In My Lifetime, Vol. As good as his rapping has become, the production here plays a large part as well. Befitting his superstar status, Jay-Z boasts the cream of hip-hop producers: Timbaland four tracks total, DJ Premier, Swizz Beatz, and Rockwilder. Album 1999 16 Songs. Hip-HopRap 1999. on his fourth album, Vol. Carter, hes a sweet contradiction. Lyrically, Jay is less introspective than he was on 1996s Reasonable Doubt hes more misogynous and paranoid than ever. But even as he shies away from past vulnerable moments like Regrets, Lucky Me and You Must Love Me, Jay born Shawn Carter has become a better architect of songs. If Jay-Zs S. Carter is best enjoyed in a posh nightclub over toasts of Cristal,. And Then There Was X is the stuff of crowded college dorms, empty pizza cartons and full kegs of domestic beer
