Norman John Rowe AM born 1 February 1947 is an Australian singer and songwriter of pop music and an actor of theatre and soap opera for which he remains best known as Douglas Fletcher in 1980s serial Sons and Daughters. Normie Rowe, AM born 1 February 1947, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia is an Australian singer and actor. Between 1965 and 1967 Rowe was Australia's most popular male star but his career was cut short when he was drafted for compulsory military service called National Service in Australia in late 1967. His subsequent tour of duty in Vietnam effectively ended his pop career and he was never able to recapture the success in music he enjoyed at his peak, and instead carving out a career in theatre. 그룹에서: Normie Rowe & The Playboys. Australian 1962 - Present. Normie Rowe was born on February 1, 1947 in Melbourne. He attended Merri Primary School and began singing with the local church choir. During his latter years at primary school, although still a pre-teen, Normie became caught up in the emergence of rock'n'roll in the mid-fifties. His interest in the 'new' music prompted him to take up the guitar and during his early years at Northcote High School he met up with some other young musicians and formed a band. The group was very much an amateur outfit and they performed once a month at the Alphingt. In Normie Rowes hands it drove a wedge right through the generation gap. Not only was he long-haired, he was suggesting that the things read in the Bible werent necessarily true. Normie Rowe and his group The Playboys became the star attraction of the Sunshine tours, which criss-crossed the eastern coast of Australia, Normie on a bus with all the rivals for his crown as Australias No. 1 King Of Pop Tony Worsley, Mike Furber anxious to upstage him. In 1975 he recorded his next album Out of the Norm which included the hit Elizabeth. He continued to perform and record sporadically.
